Type of sample/quantity required: Smears must be deposited on thoroughly clean, degreased new slides, whatever the type of material. Once this is done, the smeared material must be dried as quickly as possible in the air or using a heat source (e.g. radiator, hair-dryer, etc.);

Storage/shipping method: When completely dry, the slides must be sent in suitable containers to avoid dust collecting on the smear.
IMPORTANT: any contact with formalin or its vapours must be strictly avoided (NEVER PLACE CYTOLOGICAL SAMPLES IN THE SAME BOX AS HISTOLOGICAL SPECIMENS FIXED IN FORMALIN)

Waiting times: reports are issued within 8 working days, subject to exceptions.
