Test

PROTOCOL:

To perform the test, collect urine samples on 3 consecutive days following this schedule:

Day 1 – Morning urine sample collection;

Day 2 – Morning urine sample collection followed by 3 doses of oral dexamethasone (0.1 mg/kg per OS at noon, 6:00 pm and midnight);

Day 3 – Morning urine sample collection about 8 hours after the last dose of dexamethasone.

Sample type/quantity: At least 1 ml of urine. Note: it is recommended that the dog’s spontaneous urination be collected under the least stressful conditions possible for the animal in order to avoid false positive results (thus, collect the sample at home and not in a veterinary facility).

Storage/shipping: The urine must be stored and shipped at refrigeration temperature.

Drop-off days: Daily from Monday to Saturday.
Days of execution/referral: Daily from Monday to Saturday.
Wait times: Reports are issued on the same day as drop-off.
